My name is  Jessica Mall (formerly Jessica Moore)  and I have been coaching for 8 years. I started playing volleyball at College Park High School and continued to play while attending DVC. I stopped playing to concentrate on my studies at Saint Mary’s College where I received a degree in Law Studies. Right after graduating from high school I went back to College Park then coach Brian Fuj and asked if he needed any help, luckily he needed a Freshmen Girls Coach and I’ve been hooked ever since. Shortly after that I went to Teresa and asked if I could coach for Diablo (I also played club volleyball my Senior year with Diablo) and here I am today.

I am a competitive person however when it comes to coaching I believe that there is much more to the profession then a win-loss record. I encourage my teams to not focus only on the outcome of a match or game, I encourage them to challenge themselves not only mentally but physically also. There are a lot of ways to play this game and most ways are good enough to get the job done, however there are few ways to be the best. I believe by encouraging youth athletes to push themselves to try to improve and not to settle for “good enough” it will filter to other areas of their lives. If my teams can challenge themselves and each other to improve and play the best they can play I consider it a successful season. A winning record makes for an amazing season.
